Learn more about the benefits of the patient-centered medical home model through a new video posted on the BCBSM YouTubechannel. It features comments from a patient of a PCMH-designated doctor with Packard Health in Ann Arbor who talks about how the practice’s approach to patient-centered medical care has benefited him and his wife. It also includes comments from Ray Rion, M.D., executive director of Packard Health.
“The model of primary care I was trained in was comprehensive because of the services you as an individual delivered... that was how primary care functioned, by and large, until relatively recently,” Rion said. “So the benefit of the patient-centered medical home model is that it has increased the comprehensiveness of what you can do to support [the patient] at the time of service and beyond the time of service.”
