Access to Health and Wellness for Families in Washtenaw County

Packard Health provides high-quality, affordable primary care and mental health care, complemented by a broad range of fully integrated support services. We care for patients at every stage of life and believe that everyone deserves access to health care.

Packard Health has been dedicated to serving the medical needs of our community’s residents since 1973.

Packard Health is:

  • A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We welcome all, including those without means to seek adequate health care.
  • Strongly connected to community partner organizations, enabling us to meet health care needs in Washtenaw County in effective and collaborative ways.
  • Guided by an ongoing quality assurance program.
What is a Federally Qualified Health Center?

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) like Packard Health are nonprofit, community-based organizations committed to making quality care accessible to everyone — regardless of income, insurance status, or background. FQHCs offer a wide range of services under one roof, from primary care and women’s health to behavioral health and addiction treatment, and more.

FQHCs are required to serve anyone who walks through the door, and can charge on a sliding fee scale so cost is never a barrier. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance, and also receive federal grant funding that helps us care for patients who are uninsured or underinsured.

Our board of directors includes patients as well as community members — meaning the people we serve have a real voice in how we operate. That’s not just a requirement; it’s core to who we are.

Mission & Values

Our Mission

To provide the best possible care to our patients and community, including people whose economic, social or cultural conditions might otherwise prevent them from accessing health care.

Our Vision

A healthy community in which every individual has a dependable quality health care home.

Our Core Values

Health

We value health: a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.

Excellence

We commit to providing excellence in patient-centered health care and in the operation and management of our organization.

Justice

We believe that health care is a fundamental human right, and that all people are entitled to the resources necessary to maintain and support their health.

Caring

We cultivate a friendly and respectful environment in which all who enter are treated with warmth, support, and dignity.

Diversity

We are enriched by the cultural and economic diversity of our patients and staff, and we are supportive and respectful of each other’s differences.

Partnership

We commit to developing effective partnerships with the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area community.

I would say that Packard Health is a linchpin in our community as far as connecting people with social needs and substance use disorder and severe and persistent mental illness to primary care.
