JOB DESCRIPTION  

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Program Coordinator is responsible for the expansion of behavioral health services across Washtenaw County for Black men and boys. The Behavioral Health Program Coordinator is a content expert for resources in the community, and provides critical components of psychoeducation about mental health, race, and gender development, and may include in-person programming, supplemented by virtual/technology-based components.  

Job Duties

  • Work with external contractors to develop behavioral health resources.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the behavioral health resources and services.
  • Participate in regular meetings (face-to-face, virtual, telephone) with contractors and partners.
  • Lead planning, coordinating, and documenting of meetings and activities.
  • Engage with new and potential stakeholders for behavioral health resources.
  • Manage records and update network and sponsor lists.
  • Correspond with potential program recipients, partners, and community members.
  • Generate behavioral health resources, project reports, and communications.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

  • Demonstrated experience with administrative tasks and project management.
  • Capable of generating new ideas around engaging youth in health promotion activities.
  • Demonstrated skills with presenting and facilitating workshops with small or larger groups.
  • Ability to manage time, handle multiple tasks, remain organized, and attend to details.
  • Comfort with working individually and on a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Proficient in Google Suite (i.e., Docs, Sheets, Slides);
  • Proficient in video and audio calls, text, email, and digital calendars to connect and communicate remotely.

  • May require travel to organizations in the community

Physical demands

  • Sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
  • Stooping, bending and stretching.
  • Using computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting

Travel required

  • Some travel to local organizations for meetings in the community may be needed

Required education and experience

  • A Master’s Degree (preferred) or a Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years of work in psychology, social work, public health, education, business, or related fields;
