Healthy, happy smiles

Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children in the US. More than 40 percent of children have decay by the time they reach kindergarten, according to the CDC.

So let's "brush up" on kid's oral health care!

  • Begin brushing when 1st tooth appears
  • Brush 2 times a day for 2 minutes - before bed is extra important
  • Don't forget to floss - it's as important as brushing and a harder habit to instill
  • Young kids cannot clean their own teeth. Do it for them when they are young and with them as they get older.
  • Schedule appointment with pediatric dentist - "first visit, first birthday." Here's a  helpful checklist to get ready for that first visit.
